Giving thanks

gerisullivanFrom all reports, it appears that my Mipple-Stipple friends are safe and sound in their homes tonight. The tornado that touched down in Fannish South Minneapolis appears to have missed all of them.
The tornado's path reminded me of the one in 1981 that uprooted trees all across south Minneapolis and attempted to shove a neighbor's garage through the back door of Bob Hunter's house on 32nd Street near 4th Ave S.
Update: A comment below indicates there was property damage at one fannish household. I don't know any more than that at this point.

Date: 2009-08-21 12:42 am (UTC)I remember the 1981 tornado: my family was away for the weekend and came home to find our roof was half gone and the HUGE boulevard tree next door was lying in the neighbor's yard. We kids had a fabulous time crawling all over it for a few days until the "tree people" came and took it away.
