Car in garage: check.

Plants watered: check.

And all that sort of thing.

When I arrived at the Delta in Montreal ten days ago, a full crew of fannish sherpas poured out from the lobby. They surrounded my car and soon it was empty. A few minutes after that, carts and bags were fully loaded and all of the stuff whisked its way upstairs while I parked my car underneath the hotel.

I note with some regret that Toad Woods doesn't normally sport its own fannish sherpa crew nor did a special team await my arrival home tonight. I shudder to think about where I'm going to pile everything that's currently stuffed into the car and dare not contemplate how long it's then going to take me to put it all away. It's a good thing carnyjack is arriving in a couple of weeks. I'll want to bring some order to the chaos by then.

Sleep now. Or soon, anyway. The car will still be there when I wake.

don't worry about your unpacking/assorting until tomorrow.

We STILL don't have all the perishable ConQuesT shit out of our dining room, though it has been pared down quite a bit. We still have a case of 200 chip baglets (from FritoLay) and a couple cases of pop. All we have leftover was donated by NakaCon so it wasn't too bad.

We're donating coffee supplies and a couple cases of cocoa mix to the Writer's Place, where we hold club meetings as a goodwill thang.

We did remarkably well at going through the perishables. Our leftover snap-together shelves, plates, and cups went to a local homeless shelter that the consuite was donating extra food to, and that seems like a very good outcome indeed.

We didn't buy any napkins, and only a few plates at most. Everyone who had been throwing bid parties on the east coast and in the south brought all of their leftover consumable supplies from those, which is how we ended up with enough paper goods to run a regional consuite for at least a year and maybe two.

BTW, I have one of your tape "guns" labeled "Toad Woods" which maybe got lent to Art Show. If there is a pile of stuff for you in the CH, I'll leave it there, otherwise I'll carry it around in my car until I see you.

Many thanks for rescuing my tape gun; it's been walkabout for a year or two.

There's no pile of stuff for me at the CH, but I do have bus tubs and collapsible garbage cans to return. You're welcome to leave the tape gun on the supply shelves in the blue room with a piece of paper with my name on it.

(Those shelves seem at least somewhat out-of-the-way and usually have space available for such a a thing. It won't fit in my mailbox.)

Many thanks. I'm not yet in shape to adequately assess the "sound" part of the equation, but the couple days of post-con sleep in Montreal helped a lot. The fact that each one was topped by a pleasant evening with friends I hadn't spent enough time with at the convention didn't hurt, either. Especially since the Plokta Cabal had a jacuzzi in their rented apartment.
