...the Wales in Massachusetts, that is. It's a tiny town of 1,700 people that's 70 miles southwest of Boston, and 150 miles northeast of New York City. (130 miles from Fanhihall, where I'm currently living) Twelve miles from the intersection of
I-84 and the Mass Pike, so it's convenient for friends driving through to stop by.

Four acres of woods, two streams running through them (both streams well below the grade of the house). Largish Dutch colonial/Dutch gambrel style house (Ninety-three square feet larger than Toad Hall. Once a fan....) Loft office above the heated attached garage very similar to size and style of my attic office at the old place.

I don't have it yet, and don't know that the buyer's will accept my offer, etc. The usual. Still, all very exciting, with the hope of more good excitement to come. Time will tell; updates will follow.

Indeed. The current owners have 3 or 4 birdfeeders attached to the deck that you can see from the kitchen table.

I've always hesitated to feed the birds because of how much I travel, and how I can space doing things like filling bird feeders in the rush to get out the door or during busy project times. Then again, the current owners travel a lot, so the birds that are already counting on those feeders during the winter perhaps already know the other nearby feeders to check out.

I've seen more birds, and more different birds, here at Joe & Edie's than I have in years. And Deb and Mike have bluebirds! The house in Wales also has either a bat box, or a butterfly box, high up on one of the utility poles.
