Spam bounce follow-up

Many thanks for the various suggestions made in response to my previous post about the 5,500+ messages piled up in my email in-box. The immediate problem was quickly solved thanks to a $2.95 wifi fix on the Indiana Toll Road, and the worst of the problem seems to have passed.
I use two layers of filters -- Spam Assassin at my ISP, and the second for sorting incoming mail I download. The problem Wednesday morning came from trying to deal with the situation on a dial-up connection when I was short of time. The filters on my downloaded email correctly handled over 90% of the bounces. That helped.
The trip home is having its weird moments -- an off-then-on-again headlight, a "now it's vanished, now it's found" driver's license, and other little bits -- but it's still going well. I made it a little more than halfway before stopping for the night. Now for some sleep, and another good drive. Why, yes, I do like road trips. Rather a lot, which is a good thing considering the miles I've been putting on my car of late.
