I just touched a pile of string cheese, which was sitting on the wooden cutting board in my kitchen, warming up to room temperature to help maximize its stringy qualities.

And got shocked. Zap! Tip of finger to cheese.

Good grief. Didn't know cheese could do that.

On Monday, driving toward Milaukee to catch our flight home to Boston, we stopped at the shop next to that pop culture wonder and homage to dairy products, the Mars Cheese Castle. This little place, called Bobby Nelson's, sells a variety of cheeses, sausages, and other products.

We got a summer sausage, several kinds of pickled, jarred veg (okra for Priscilla, green cherry tomatoes for Mike, and brussel sprouts for me and some others), and jalapeno string cheese.

Mmmmm. String cheese with zzzzip!

So you sound like someone who would enjoy electrified jalapeno string cheese.

Perhaps something can be worked out with Leyden jars and a Wimshurst machine or a small Van de Graaf.

Wow. You know, if we use all *three* and get a really really big spark...aim it all at the jalapeno string cheese...we get glow-in-the-dark nachos.

Or we set fire to the house. Your choice, really. :-)

Hm. Salty and wet and in contact with the ground... I guess cheese has less resistance than you do. Which kind of sounds about right.

The least of string cheese horrors is its ability to conduct static electricity. The worst is eating the godawful stuff.

Now you have a reason to buy an electric cheese slicer. (I wonder if android mice dream of... never mind.)

It's "its"! It's "its"!

"...help maximize it is stringy qualities" makes no sense, no way, no how.

It's "its," dammit! And I knew that when my fingers were busy putting that errant apostrophe in there.

Corrected now. Apologies for the winces inflicted.

Temporal discontinuity. "They" did something to you. You simply associate it with the cheese because it was nearby. Remember your tinfoil helmet next time. Fnord.

My theory is that you had bought quantum string cheese...

(Do you have a cat named Schrodinger, that ate the android mice, that ate the string cheese electric?)

Oh dear, that's reaaalllllly bad.

Well, I guess there is SOME truth in advertising.

Remember those commercials, "The Power of Cheese"?
