The day after the day after the day...

A reply I just posted to a friend's LJ held a pretty good summary of where I'm at right now. Here it is, with some of the flaky grammar corrected, and some additional bits added at the end.

debgeisler and MikeWLHB* are indeed greatly easing my way through these agonizing days. As are the notes and all of the comfort aimed my way by friends and loved ones near and far.

Much as I may feel like I'll explode first, my head pretty clearly knows that I'll make it through. My head knows that life will be much less fragmented, much less painful, and much more tolerable when I've traveled several more days, weeks, and months down its road.

I'll be glad when my heart knows it, too.

In the meanwhile, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you to all who are holding me with extra care in their hearts right now. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you to all who are giving me the space I need and who are helping me to continue functioning, to continue interacting with the world outside my head and heart.

You are all the best things a person can be. You inspire friendship like very few people can. I just returned fro a trip and read your posts and wanted to take the time to wish you love and strength. I know you don't need from me, as you obviously have from so many. I hope to see you in the US for LACon.

Geri, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother! There's nothing I can really say except that it's hard. I'm glad you have such a wonderful network of friends to help you through this.
