...were a big hit, and the butternut squash, red onion, & cranberry tagine was even more so.

Me, I want the recipe for the b'stilla. And the rice pudding. When on earth did I start liking rice pudding?

And the chicken, and the veg, and the fish balls....

(In other words, we starved.)

Brian and I went to a Puerto Rican restaurant here in town on Saturday. We ordered a coconut pudding to share (yum), and the proprietor gave us a rice pudding and a flan to take home. We had heard someone ask if the rice pudding had cinnamon in it. No, he was told, just nutmeg and (I think) cumin. It also had raisins.

When I tasted it I informed Brian that if I'm ever mad at him and he wants to apologize, he shouldn't get me chocolates, he should stop and pick up some of that rice pudding for me.

The flan was also excellent.

I haven't had rice pudding for decades. The same with tapioca pudding. They were great comfort foods.

I used to utterly adore tapioca pudding and not care at all for rice pudding. The few times I've tried making tapioca in recent years have all been full of fail and disappointment. And now I suddenly like rice pudding.

Tastebuds are weird.
