Friends are the best

lsanderson, I'm listening to the "Inside Llewyn Davis" soundtrack streamed at NPR.
OMG. I've been trying to keep my expectations at least somewhat in check. I adore the soundtrack of "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou" and this has been compared to it in reviews. Yet, I'm likely to be far more familiar with the material on "Inside Llewyn Davis" right out of the gate. It would be all too easy for this to be "okay" but not much more than that.
Instead, it's sheer beauty and comfort to my eyes. Such beauty and comfort that writing even so lightly about it is starting to bring tears to my eyes. Things are going well in my life, but my soul needs such balming beauty this morning and here it is.

Date: 2013-11-07 07:42 pm (UTC)Thanks to Steve Brust and the fact that the coin of the realm on projects I do for friends is "a surprise," Dave Van Ronk once played a private concert in my living room. I don't follow movies all that closely, or even see very many of them, but I completely adore the Coen Brothers. I have been agog about this movie since I first read they were working on a script.
