Giving Thanks: HMS Bounty Survivors
Nov. 6th, 2012 03:13 pmThe crew from the HMS Bounty appeared on Good Morning America this morning. The 5-minute clip includes several comments from
n6tqs, and a cameo appearance at the end by Doug's teddy bear, Mush.
Journalism oddities: the text refers to all 14 surviving crewmates being present; a dozen of them are shown on camera. And, far more disconcerting, when they show deceased crew member Claudene Christian's last text to her mother, the date on the text is November 4, 2012. There are other, smaller anomalies, as well.
Many thanks to Gary Farber for email about the broadcast, so I knew to go looking for a link. And many more thanks to the Coast Guard for rescuing everyone they could. I'm so very glad that Doug was among them, and that 14 of the crew survived.
