The Secret History of Science Fiction
Sep. 26th, 2012 05:11 pmRobert Silverberg. Joe Haldeman. Mike Resnick. George RR Martin. And, eventually, Gardner Dozois.
I watched it live with hundreds of others on Saturday afternoon of Chicon 7. Thanks to Lezli Robyn's recording, you can see it, too.
Just short of 1 hour, 18 minutes. Recommended.

Once upon a time, a long time ago, the educational television channel in Chicago got Carl Sandburg and Frank Lloyd Wright together to reminisce about having been young undiscovered geniuses together. At the end of the hour, when the credits rolled, someone negligently left the mike open: "Come on, Frank, let's get out of here before someone starts telling the truth."

Date: 2012-10-02 03:20 am (UTC)I'm sorriest to have missed both Story Musgrave and Sy Liebergot (well, except for Opening Ceremonies, where I saw Sy). But I made it to more program and events than at Anticipation, Denvention, and L.A. Con IV combined, so I have no complaints, really. Glad I could help with the pointer to the (not-so) secret history panel.
