Science Fiction Outreach Book Drive Progress: March 10th

In my car:
-- 245 books donated by Ben Yalow

At Toad Woods:
-- 33 books culled from upstairs shelves

At the NESFA Clubhouse:
-- ???

Current known total: 278 books

Color me curious

The MCFI-sponsored book drive for the Science Fiction Outreach Project at C2E2 runs through Sunday, March 25. Please guess how many books will be donated to the MCFI book drive, and how many of those books will fit in my car. (We'll ship the rest as needed.)

If you're on LJ, you can use the poll. If not, please respond in the comments. Thanks!

I wish to complain about this poll. Cats.

We have our first winner! First response to my first poll, and first complaint, too. Extra credit for the cat icon.

I wish to complain about the lack of ticky boxes, as well as the surplus of ticky circles...

This!

They are lovely circles but they are not boxes.

The usual phrase is square peg in a round hole. I'm afraid I have just provided further evidence that I'm anything but usual.

That very fact occurred to me just a few moment ago in the shower. Imagine my embarrassment. Here I am with a poll and no ability to edit it.

I shall restore balance to the universe by putting ticky boxes in the next poll...and labeling them ticky circles.

As for your second question, is that with or without the proviso that the car be able to move after being loaded? ;-)

Books only having a density around 1, I'm pretty sure that the car will move. The question is whether she will be able to see out the windows.

Not only will I be able to see out the windows, I'll have clear sightlines for doing so. Wrecking the car on the way would interfere with delivering the books to Chicago, and other plans I have for the trip. Not to mention the rest of my life....

The books have to get to Chicago, so yes, the car's gotta move.

Add 4 to 6 shopping bags I'm loading into Helen's car next weekend . . .

Neat!

Please count the number of books and report back on that, unless you want them reported as "4 to 6 shopping bags" in the final tally of MCFI drive results. I adore the fact that the drive is drawing in books that are already in Chicago! Win.
