I watched the ceremony online but went to bed at 1 AM (Eastern time) before it was over. The first thing I did online this morning was to check for the complete results. They did a great job on both counts! Congratulations to the winners and all the nominees.

Not too shabby; I'm particularly pleased about the Chiang, and Claire Brialey. The Life Cycle of Software Objects makes a point, through anthropomorphisation, that applies to present-day software too. When you've really worked on something, made it part of your life for many years, it has a life, of a sort, to you. Even if it doesn't talk, it says things. In much the same way as ships.
