Veranda party moment I want to remember

gerisullivanDancing to Great Big Sea's "Donkey Ride." Substituting the words "Monkey Ride" 'cause I was wearing my monkey shoes. Pretty much everybody except the 9-sheets-to-the-wind groom noticed and were getting a kick out of it. He was going right along with it, talking about the monkey, so I played it up and directed him to show his respects to the monkey, pointing his attention to my shoes. It took about a half-dozen commands, each one with him looking down at my shoes, then, suddenly, he focused enough to see that they really were monkeys looking back up at him.
His reaction? Priceless.
Stevie was sure to get pictures of the shoes later. I don't know his Facebook account name, but there may well end up be some of the video up on YouTube. Probably not, but maybe enough for me to go looking a couple times over the next few weeks. And to carry a business card with me tomorrow so if I see him, he'll have a way to send some of the images my way. Odds are their reception will be going full steam when we get back from hours.
