Peeps AND PEZ!

With a peep of thanks to damasquine for the Peeps Easter basket she gave me the last time we saw each other. Way cute!

Sorry, the Peeps part just ended...I stopped writing to watch it. Easter trivia I didn't know before: Peeps now outsell jelly beans for the holiday. I can't decide if it's sacrilege or cause for celebration.

Sacrilege, I say, or Heresy. Peeps are fine to look at (the first few times, anyhow) but the taste is blah, and the mouth-feel is too much like Wonder Bread. Besides, people who think Peeps are part of Easter Tradition make me feel positively (and negatively) Ancient. Jellybeans = Easter just as Candy Corn = Halloween. And, of course, chocolate cream or fondant-filled eggs, though I'm neophilic enough to delight in the Cadbury ones with a chocolate shell surrounding a white cream filling with the yellow yolk in the centre. Thanks for the reminder; must get some jellybeans soon -- maybe not even waiting until after Easter when they'll be cheaper -- taking care not to get these newfangled ones with Strange Flavors (strawberry? watermelon? jalapeno (which are jot as jell)? Never! (Why, I'm so Traditional that I felt guilty about cooking corned-beef for Saint Patrick's Day during Lent -- even though I'm not and never have been Catholic (Roman or otherwise).)
