Next November, in Toronto

This weekend next year I have the honor of being the FanGoH at SFContario, a new convention in Toronto. Better yet, my fellow GoHs include my dear friends for life, Editor GoHs Patrick & Teresa Nielsen Hayden, and Filk GoH Karen Linsley. I'll be watching the SFContario website and dlacey's LiveJournal for the announcement of SFContario's Author GoH.

Diane is running programming, so there's the added delight of working with her on that. I understand Catherine Crockett has the consuite, again making it easy to arrange some sort of Toad Woods Toronto or similar event there. I don't get there often, but I've loved Toronto since my first visit there in 1986 through my most recent for Corflu in 2006. I'm glad to know I'll be returning next November and sharing SFContario with fine, fine folks such as these. And others of you reading this, too, I hope!

Oh, that's fabulous! I look forward to meeting Sue at long last, and to seeing you again after far too long.

I wasn't familiar with Karen's voice. The samples on the Road to Roswell webpage left me shivering with anticipation, and knowing you're going to be there, too? Big wow. SFContario just keeps sounding better and better.

Sounds good. You're already in the Friends of Toad Hall/Toad Woods registers several times over and so already have a good feel for the sort of ambiance we might create for a Toad Woods thing in the consuite. Though I'll probably leave the giant purple Bungled Jungle fish at home....

(I'm so glad to see that The Bungled Jungle is still up and running! Gavi was still a toddler their first year at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.)

SFContario sounds like a good fit for you -- dlacey is thinking along the lines of both Minicon and ConFusion. I expect other members of the concom have different models in their heads, but they've pulled together a good team with a variety of useful experience.
