Thanks to much help from many a fine fan, and perhaps an extra scoop of Geri-determination, I'm pleased to announce the availability of the one-hour one-shot, 59 Minutes of ConFusion, that we produced here at ConFusion 31!

As Bill "That Man Deserves a Hugo" Burns just posted to several fannish email lists:

Fanzines don't come much fresher than this. Geri Sullivan sends today a
30-page one shot produced yesterday at ConFusion 31:

"59 Minutes of ConFusion was created between 2 and 3 pm on
Saturday, January 22, 2005, during the Fanzine in an Hour panel
at ConFusion 31. Planning and post-panel production work
by co-editors Jason Ahlquist, Lenny Bailes, and Geri Sullivan.
A one-hour one-shot from SMOTHRA, members: FWA."

Now on line at efanzines.com

Enjoy! LoCs welcome; we'll find a way to publish them!

Can you set it up so I can download the file without having to open adobe?

Or maybe zip it?

On dial up it takes way too long to down load.

I think the "without having to open adobe" might have to do with individual computer's settings, as I downloaded it the same way I download all of my files -- without opening Adobe Acrobat anything. I then open it at my leisure long after the download is done.

I zipped it -- and generated a 7 meg ZIP file -- the exact same size as the 72 dpi Acrobat file. No such luck there.

It will be up on the ConFusion site soonish I expect; they might be able to do something different that works better for you. I can offer to burn you a CD and mail it, but it's likely to be after Boskone before I can do so. (I have a significant client deadline the day I leave for Boskone, which is why it's likely to be later.)

Sorry. The 30-page fanzine has 58 image files, including a full color cover. Hmm. One would suspect I might have had a hand in this, eh? We downsampled everything before placing it, and then made it smaller still. It's nonetheless huge. My source folder for this document, which didn't exist on Friday, currently has 862 megs of data in it. That's down from the 920 meg earlier today, when I was testing PDF settings.
