lsanderson posited this morning that the ConFusion snow curse might be him rather than ConFusion. For evidence, he cites the joys of dealing with yesterday's snowfall in Minneapolis, where he is, compared to last year's Friday snow in Detroit, where he was then.

I have another theory, one that I think readers will agree more closely reflects the reality of the ConFusion curse. This year's blizzard spreads from Minnesota to New York specifically because lsanderson and Ben Yalow are both at their respective homes, rather than here at ConFusion, where they were meant be. Were they both here, only the Detroit area would be getting socked by this storm.

As for me, if I'm going to be snowed in, I'd rather it be with a bunch of musicians who aren't afraid of playing until dawn or nearly so. And where some one else does the shoveling, like at a hotel. Hey, neat! And so I am....

well, we're sitting in Boston watching a storm that bears a remarkable resemblance to the storm that created our Sno-kone opportunity two years ago ...

can I blame Larry and Ben for our state of emergency as well?

Absolutely. If they'd both been at ConFusion, the storm would have been more localized. Though you probably can't blame Larry, since his staying home only affected the Minnesota side of the storm. Besides, he never planned to come, so the Ghods of ConFusion weren't including him in the count of those to be affected by their curse upon the convention's weather.

Ben, on the other hand, has rather more of the responsibility to bear....

That's because Mike Pins was at ConFusion. If he'd stayed in Boulder, you'd have had snow.
