Today's Alien

Here's the alien that followed me home from the grocery store last night. It's a citron, an open-fingered Buddha's Hand citron. The aroma is enchanting, mostly floral with citrus undertones.
Click through for a few more pictures of it here and at Thanksgiving dinner...and a shot of Mark and Priscilla's fascinating new sculpture, "Otherworldly Procession" by Vincent Villefranca. (There's also a picture of it on his website, and also one of "The Future of Ornithology", which you will see sucking away at the Buddha's Hand in the Thanksgiving pictures. It's a good thing Mark and Priscilla drove to Illuxcon...93 pounds of sculpture would be rather awkward to fly with, not to mention the framed art that followed them home. They're keeping that, too, which is fine with me since I get to enjoy looking at it when visiting.)
'Twas a lovely Thanksgiving. Good company, good food, much laughter. Priscilla knew about Buddha's Hand citrons, but had never seen one in person. Score.
