Dial-up Update
May. 28th, 2006 10:35 amWith the exception of my reaction to my father's new health problems, I'm having a marvelous multi-vacation trip. Alas, it looks like I'll be on dial-up for most of the rest of it, so the photos from yesterday's visit to Millennium Park will have to wait. In the meanwhile, Google Images will give you a better taste of Anish Kapoor's Cloud Gate sculpture (aka "The Bean") than my own pictures eventually will. It's stunning, and watching people interacting with it is as good as looking at the sculpture itself.
The first few days of my Minneapolis visit can be seen through the eyes of Susie, the Traveling PEZ Dispenser. Susie is traveling the world raising breast cancer awareness and raising funds for breast cancer research. It was great fun having her catch up with me in Minneapolis. Scroll down to the bottom of Susie's journal, then check out the photo section>. Good times.
Jack WINOLJ and I are hosting a BBQ this afternoon in celebration of our "Not-A-20th Anniversary." Our good times and then some began at Not-A-D-Con 20 years ago this very weekend. Goshwow. This "unniversary," as John D. Berry called it, brings with it strong reminders of how different -- and how very much more interesting -- my life is compared to what I thought it would be when I was a child.
Onward.
