The *Stuff* You Learn
Dec. 10th, 2003 01:19 amOn Tuesday, I learned that "stuff" is a Bad Word in the moving biz, a big No-No, to be avoided at all costs. Nobody has a lot of stuff, they have a lot of *items* to move.
Well, I say it's stuff, and I'm doing my best to say to hell with a lot of it. Well, if not exactly hell, then the fires of the Hennepin County trash burner, or the recycling bins, or into the hands of others who might have some use for it. Not necessarily in that order, of course.
Still, the first moving company will be estimating a 15,000 pound move for me. I'll be curious to see what the others think, and even more curious what the final weight turns out to be. Anybody want to enter the "How Much Does Geri's Move Weigh" lottery? First prize is 10 pounds of Geri's stuff. Second prize is, of course, 20 pounds of the same. And so on....
Or you could guess how many bags of office papers I can fill for this Friday's recycling pickup. We'll have the answer to that one in a couple of days.
Eek! (And onward....)
