And thank ghod I decided to call now rather than wait until "ten days prior to the date printed on your summons" as instructed. 'Cause I didn't want to spend until Christmas Day wondering whether I was going to be spending the first two months of 2009 in what promised to be an impossible situation on multiple levels. I didn't want to be 800 or 1300 miles away in the middle of a vacation, waiting to know one way or the other.

Relief. That's what it is. Relief.

Whew, but if I'd gotten that recorded message and the first three letters of my name were S-U-L, I'd have probably pressed 7-8-5 before I realized what I was doing.
