Boston.com ran these gorgeous pictures from CERN at the beginning of August. I didn't read all 2,500+ comments to their post, but that won't stop me from naming #145 the best:

Well, according to CNN International there's about 8 minutes left before they turn it on... and about a month before they actually try anything that could even possibly cause that site to require an update.

Just skimmed the pix. I doubt the most imaginative Hollywood and SF minds could come up with movie sets this complex. Mind-boggling.
