What a remarkably long day

gerisullivanI'm heading to Sue's for what I expect will turn out to be a full night's sleep. Maybe even "and then some." That'd be nice....
Sue's finally sleeping...as much as one ever can in a hospital, that is. In a hospital, post-surgery, with a continuous motion machine flexing the leg with her new hip. She's been sleeping or what passes for it for most of two hours now. I finished up the last of the day's client work and sent it off for what may well be its final review and approval for printing. It's a 126-page employee benefits guide that I was working on back at Westercon, if I remember correctly (and I'm pretty sure I do).
I'm glad to have a day of such incredible and good memories to layer on top of all of the mental images and memories from last February here. This joint-replacement stuff is amazing. casacorona and others. But even that didn't prepare me for what I saw my sister do today, and how happy and jazzed she was immediately following surgery. Cool beans.
