40 days, 2550 miles later...

...home.

The Zeppelin Hangar is still standing. It's somewhat dustier than when I left, but otherwise all appears well. On the main floor, at least. I've yet to visually check out the rest of the house. The furnace runs, hot water is working, and nothing smells bad. All in all, I call that a win.

Hmmm...that 2550 miles doesn't include the run down to NYC that started the 40-day clock ticking. It's probably closer to 2850 miles with that.

Now to unpack, settle, and recover. That's going to take some time, too. For my first trick, I'm hoping to stay here for longer than 22 consecutive hours. That'll be a treat.

Home is the most beautiful four-letter word there is. Glad you're safe.

You are, I'm sure, utterly exhausted. Missed you at the meeting yesterday, but it's understandable. Take it easy, and don't be surprised by your emotions over the next few years.

Home to your hanger
Home from the sea
Let your safe harbor
Rock you to sleep

Strange masts behind you
Wandering done
Embrace the respite
And the healing's begun

(the above is a bit of doggerel that sprang into my head just now as I though of you getting home to the Zeppelin Hanger)

XOXOXOXO

Glad to hear that you made it home safely

Here's hoping that you get a more than sufficient amount of time to unpack and decompress.

Don't know if I'll be able to go yet, alas. I have a membership. Then again, I had a membership last year.

Sigh.

Hope so! I continue to hope so!

Yes
