I am so comfortably wrapped in love, support, and understanding from all of you, and from so many others. There are sweet rolls, and coffee. There's chicken and sausage gumbo, provolone, and more. There's shoveling to be done, work to do, life to live. And you're all doing a marvelous job of reminding me of that while also giving me the space to find and believe its underlying truth and reality.

Thank you. I look forward to seeing you all on the Funway just as soon as I make it there. And to seeing you wherever our paths cross in the meantime.

P.S. Thank you, Tami.

There are also memories of your mother's love for you. The immediate pain and sorrow will not go away, but it will recede, and the thought of her love will remain.

Dearest Geri,

My condolences on the death of your mother. My thoughts are with you.

If there is anything that we can do for you, even at this remove, do not hesitate to lean on us. That's what we're here for.

Love,
Felicia

I am very sad that your mom is gone. I find that when someone I've known leaves our world, there is a new hole in my cosmos. I remember a lot of events from that past life, but I particularly remember the day you and I emptied out Barbara's storage locker in St. Louis Park, packed everything in my truck, and drove it to her new apartment in Lansing. And what a relief that process was for you. I know, maybe more than most, how your life and hers were intertwined, and I wish you all the best from this day forward.

Thanks for telling us her name. I hadn't known it.

I know there were some tough times, recently and in the past, and now those times are over. But that doesn't make her less gone.

Love,

K.

Geri, it's still condolences, still hugs, and thank you for your candor and detailed discussion of the last days and hours. Please keep us posted on what comes afterwards. I'd love to talk with you on the phone some right now, but I am quite sure that this would absolutely not be a good time for a "catch-up" phone call. I am sending you strength and warmth and reinforcements through the ether right now as we speak.

Nate B.

Pretend we've invited you over for spicy black beans and rice with cornmeal biscuits, and toasted absent loved ones with Lagavullin. Or the equivalent of those. That's what we'd do if it weren't for all that silly land mass in between.

Suzle forwarded me your email, and I've just read it and your posts here at work. All my sympathy, of course, as well as Suzle's.

Hugs across the eways

soon to be real hugs.... It's a tough loss even if you had difficulties between you and your mom.

Our thoughts are with you dear.
