Living in the Future

Today's first "Life in the Future" moment came thanks to [livejournal.com profile] james_nicoll who linked to light emitting fabric, which is just too cool for words. Sure, it's $300/yard now, but laser printers cost $3,000 when I first started buying them and now they're $80 after rebate at Staples. I can hardly wait for Luminex to show up at S.R Harris and other deep discounters.

To balance out the sublime with the absurd, there's the spam spelling contest of the day winner:

"Drae attglobal.net Mbmeer,

We must chekc taht yoru attglobal.net ID was reretsiged by rela pelpoe. So, to hlep attglobal.net pretnev atamotued
registratiosn, pleesa cilck on tsih lnik and complete cdoe verifitacion prosecs:

[toxic link deleted]

Tahnk you."

Oh, yeah, like I'm going to think that's credible. I just can't figure out how the letter-scrambler missed we, must, was, by, so, to, on, complete, and, and you. That, and I can only get "cdoe" to resolve to "coed" and "code". I suppose "code" could make sense....

Onward.
