That's the current total membership in Loncon 3.
Well, it was current a moment ago. I was going to wait until it topped 10,000, but how could this Minneapolis in ’73 femmefan resist?
Besides,
drplokta mentioned about 50 hall passes were sold separately. Counting those, they hit the 10,000 mark several hours ago.
Congratulations, Loncon 3! I'm happy to be among the 10,000 and only sorry I won't be there in person for the experience.
Hey. It held at 9,973 long enough for me to write this post. :-)

Date: 2014-08-13 12:52 am (UTC)I knew it would be big way back when London turned out to be a real possibility. "OMG, London." I'm enough of a convention runner to have tempered my enthusiasm with the caveat, "if you can make it work, if there's any possible way you can make it work" before my whole-hearted "go for it!"
I didn't know it would be this big. Size isn't everything, and it can even complicate some things, but I'm delighted beyond words that the largest Worldcon ever is 1) outside the US, and 2) no longer 30 years ago.
