CodeRed: Color me impressed
Oct. 8th, 2013 02:36 amThe Town of Wales recently upgraded its citizens notification system to CodeRed. I signed on and received my first notification shortly after 6pm Monday evening. The area was under a severe thunderstorm warning for the coming hour.
It was utterly calm outside. It's been raining on and off (mostly on, mostly misty drizzle) for the last 4 days. Nothing to indicate a storm coming through. But 20 minutes later, sure enough, *wham*. High winds, rain to beat the band. I didn't hear any thunder or see any lightening, but the storm clearly fell into a category worthy of notification. Especially since it arrived without any of the usual warning signs.
So, yes, CodeRed is off to a good start with me. Way to go, Wales.
