RIP: Jim Young
Jim Young is gone. His memory will always, always be a blessing.
Memorial Service information will be posted when arrangements are made. The early word is that it's most likely going to be the end of next week in Minneapolis. I'm hosting the NESFA Other Meeting on Sunday, June 24th, and have no idea whether or not I'll be able to be in Minneapolis in person. I'll obviously be there in spirit.
Sympathy to Jim's brother Denny, his niece Amy, the entire Young family, and science fiction fandom, especially Minneapolis fandom. Added sympathy to my dear, dear friends and loved ones Fred Levy Haskell, Ken Fletcher, and Nate Bucklin. They and Frank Stodolka (who I never really got to know) were Minn-StF's Floundering Fathers along with Jim.

(Anonymous) 2012-06-12 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)The address book had gotten away from me, as happens, and I had a lot of work to do. I even found that I had a entry for Jim Young, for the house he was all set to buy over on Grass Lake, a little south and west of here. He never did move back, obviously. But I deleted the same day as his surgery (which I didn't know about until after, until people spread the word about the CaringBridge site).
Coincidence is not causality. But still, I am sad.
K. [three cheers for James Maxwell Young of the Foreign Service]
