Crossing the 50% mark

I've now been home over 50% of the nights this year. 50.17543%, to be precise. Tomorrow, that number will be 50.34965%. Presuming the next 12 hours go as I expect, anyway.

Always good to hear from you, and I believe I am glad that you are up over 50%. I realized something, though, in a conversation with Minnehaha B some years back: Between my traveling too much and too little (were I ever to be able to make that choice on a conscious level), I think I have a preference for too little. I enjoy being here at home, and the current security theater at airports is totally crazy-making. There are times, though, when I would like to get into the car and just do one more road trip.

You are touching on what I have been thinking. Although I am a bit of a homebody, I fondly remember the days when I would jump in a car to go get coffee only to end up spending 9 months in Vancouver. Sandy and I are discussing a theoretical trip to Europe and she envisions a structured professional tour while I have romantic visions of backpacks and Eurorail passes.
