All's been very quiet compared to the forecast for the last hour.

Current connectivity report:

Electricity = on and apparently solid after two miniscule outages several hours ago

Cable internet = up.

Verizon landline = down from the box outside the house on in. Their tests don't turn up a network problem. The lines from the box out to the street appear intact, and there are no downed lines within site on the street, either.

Sprint smartphone: Not only no bars of service, no bars at all. Just a "No" circle showing there's no service to be found. Sprint hurricaneinfo page acknowledges there are temporary service disruptions throughout hurricane zone.

Gavi made chocolate chip cookies. Yum. We had a couple each with milk.

I'm so glad things aren't worse for you. About an hour ago I checked with my sister Kathleen (about 60 miles outside of New York City) and Judy Harrow (in a small town in New Jersey) and they're both okay, though Kathleen can't get out and do things because the New York Thruway (am I spelling that right) is flooded. Keeping in mind that the people who lost power, got flooded, or even died, are very real people too, I am still pleased that my loved ones are okay.
