May the first moment of my week prove to be the worst moment of my week.

When I tried to turn off the alarm this morning, my CPAP equipment fell and flipped over. I put it back in its usual spot to the sound of much gurgling. The next thing I knew, water from the unit's humidifier flooded my nose. Intense burning sensation and flash sinus headache.

I never did learn how to keep water from rushing into my sinuses when swimming; I've always had to wear nose plugs to put my face underwater. Since growing up, I've learned a snorkel mask works much better.

I hope each and every person reading this had a better start to the week, and that those already in Reno or headed to Renovation have an utterly fabulous, fun time there.

Onward!

Man, that is probably the suckiest way of waking up I've ever read.

Um, at least you have clean sinuses now?

I hope that both you and the CPAP survived the experience.

I am glad it wasn't any worse.

Although it wasn't comfortable, sterilized water shouldn't pose much of a health risk. I am surprised the machine didn't fry itself. I was warned very sternly, when I received my CPAP machine, about the danger of water sloshing about where it shouldn't in the machine.

A couple of months ago, I was woken by a phone call--about a threat to firebomb the house and kill me and Colin. [Fortunately, not credible, utter wanker making the threat, etc.] Geri, I think you got a *much* ruder awakening. I hope your CPAP doesn't get in the habit of randomly waterboarding you!

Heading to Reno this evening, I'll do my best to have, and make it, a fabulous time.

Catherine

There's a rude awakening!

(My sick kitty got antibiotics from the emergency vet and is heading back to normal.)
