Five days...

I believe it's a new record. My dining room table was a clean, flat surface for five days. Five *consecutive* days. Until tonight, when I needed a place to gently lay the freshly-laundered curtains until after Cindy Scott and I clean the windows to match and rehang all of the kitchen, front hall, and stairwell window coverings.

Cindy arrives Friday afternoon to help me through the final push to ready the house for the market. Her bedroom is freshly painted. Earlier tonight, Jeff helped me reassemble the bed frame and move the mattress and box spring back in so Cindy is saved needing to put her bed together before she can sleep.Toad Hall is a Considerate Host Approved Accommodation.

For five days, the dining room was completely set, ready to add fresh flowers and be shown to any and all prospective buyers. The next trick is for the rest of the house to match. That wasn't supposed to happen by cluttering up the dining room.

At least I'm having fun.

Yes, really.

Five days is good.
I find that I need to sell my house, too, as soon as possible, and wonder if you can recommend your realtor. Is he/she better than ordinary do you think?

Much better than ordinary. Will and Emma found him at an open house in the early 1980's, and discovered he was a history major from Carleton. They passed him on to Minn-Stf at large. He is not a standard salesman, does not spout stereotypes and cliches, listens to what you tell him, is never in a hurry, has a small genius for matching up people and houses who have weird requirements and is also adept at finding mortages for people you would never think could get financing.

Geri can tell her own stories, of course, but she's a bit busy right now and you seem in a bit of a hurry.

Exactly. Everything Pamela said. The only thing I've found to regret about my move so far is that I don't have a Realtor Bob at the buying end of things.

I've never sold a house before, and had been going to talk with a second Realtor, just to compare. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized there wasn't going to be anyone who I could be more confident in and comfortable with than Bob. I know too many people like me who have had good experiences with him, on both the buying and selling sides of real estate transactions.

We haven't worked together on a house deal before, but I was in charge of the Minneapolis in '73 suite the year Bob hosted a thank you party there, and I'd talked with him a couple of years ago, when Dean and Laura were selling their house.

While we all call him "Realtor Bob," his name is Bob Williams. He's with Coldwell Banker Burnet, with an office on Cedar Ave, IIRC. I have his phone number downstairs; I'll try to remember to email it to you.

Good luck!

Wonderful! Do you happen to have his name/ the name of his enterprise?

Thanks!

Never mind. :) I just saw Geri's note.

Cindy Scott is a friend who lives in Sunnyvale, CA. She was Vice Chair and Comptroller for ConJose, which is how I got to know her. She was at Minicon 37; this will be her second trip to Minneapolis.

She's good people. I haven't seen her since last October, so it will be a treat having her here in that respect as well as having a very welcome set of helping hands.

I'm sure that Cindy Scott is a very common name and since a lot of people on LJ use pseudonyms anyway... but I wonder did Cindy live in Houston ~6 years ago and does she sing? (and a UU?)

This Cindy has never mentioned living in Texas to the best of my memory, and none of the other identity factors ring bells, either. I'm fairly certain she was in the Bay Area six years ago, so, yeah, I expect we're talking about different Cindys.
