Life in the Broccoli Forest

Google Maps updated the satellite image for Toad Woods recently. Little did I know that when the forest flattens in summer, it's doing so in response to the broccoli invasion....

For me, at the local Community Gardens vegetable plot, broccoli has provided (the past two years) almost as much embarrassment of riches as zucchini, so I've put in only two plants so far, and am planning on no more than two additional ones (of a different variety, just to make sure of having some with the side-branching habit that produce little heads until late August).

That's scary. I know about you and zucchini! Take care, or soon the entire neighborhood around your Community Gardens plot will look just like the broccoli forest around the Zeppelin Hangar.
