For [livejournal.com profile] smofbabe...

...and other folks inclined to enjoy such amusements.

The Jewish Zodiac, created by Seth Front and visualized by artist Michael Doret. Start at the logo and click "Next" until you find your year. I'm Lox.

There's more info at The Jewish Zodiac website.

(Then again, Jewish Zodiac apparel and tchotchkes appear to be sold in Jewish gift shops all over the place, so maybe it's just goyim like me who just heard of it.)

Thanks - someone else had actually pointed me to this a bit ago.

BTW, hope you checked out his entire site. He also has font designs like Orion and DeliScript :->

Yeah, Michael Doret has a style and he uses it brilliantly.

Gorgeous, though more serious and beautiful than funny I think. Thanks for the links!

I'm Year of the Lox too. I guess that figures, since Jews are a tribe that proverbially does not eat its totem.

I am quite upset that neither of my children were born in 1995. Had they been, I could have answered their question, "What am I, chopped liver?" with a simple "Yes."

However, one of them being born in the Year of the Schmear almost makes up for it.

I was also born in the Year of the Schmear. Does that make me a cannibal?
