I've been making good progress on bringing the house into better order recently — the clean, flat surfaces have survived the week! But there are still several piles of boxes waiting to be unpacked, in the basement mostly, though five boxes of hardback books are awaiting the presence of another bookshelf on the first floor. I went foraging through them today, looking for the Fantasy Tarot deck that used to sit with the hardbacks in the living room at Toad Hall.

I found the rest of the ducks, which I was also looking for, but no Fan Tarot deck. Then, after moving one of the boxes back off of the clean, flat counter I'd used while opening it, I noticed a scrap of paper, folded so the writing was on the outside:

"Remember the Minnesotans who are still in Minnesota. :-)
XOXO The Minnesotans"

It's joining the other packing notes on the fridge as soon as I post this update.Oh, yes — I remember. And I look forward to seeing many of the Minnesotans who are still in Minnesota at Minicon just six weeks from now. Along with other friends also traveling to the Sin Twitties for the occasion.

Great icon; very topical!

My ducks were in a box, of course. Two boxes, actually. The special Numbered Ducks (from the State Fair party at Chicon 2000) were in one box, and the Devil Ducks were in another box along with the rest of the duck collection. Now all of them are in still another box, this one sitting in the back room of the NESFA clubhouse, with a "Go" label for Boskone 42. Along with a bag of peat moss, fake astro-turf, 51 kazoos, several hundred strands of Mardi Gras beads, Oreos with red filling, a zombie librarians poster, and many other utterly weird things.
