In my copious free time...
Larry Sanderson warned me it's a cookbook, but I'm here anyway. In between painting, packing, decluttering, and cleaning anyway.
Toad Hall goes on the market a week from tomorrow. The place is utter chaos, except for the dining room. The dining room is ready.
Underneath the chaos, the house is looking better than it has in years. That's the nature of selling, so I guess I'm on the right track.
When it sells, I'm heading east. To the woods, somewhere along the Massachusetts/Connecticut border. That's the plan, anyway. I'm early enough in the process that I'm still enjoying it, albeit a little less than I was a couple of weeks ago when I had the illusion of having more time.
Onward!

To live? I thought you wanted to get away from harsh winters...

I want to experience living in the woods; I don't know how long I'll want to continue doing it. I'm thinking of this as a 5-10 year move, rather than a "rest of my life" move, hence the willingness to cope with a different form of winter (one I'm familiar with from growing up in southern Michigan) in exchange for the advantages of the eastern woods (perceived business opportunities, overall closeness to major metro areas, particularly good friends).

In the meantime: hello!

Jeff and I broke up about 2.5 years ago. We're on very good terms with each other, and both pleased about that, I think. He bought his own place in the summer of 2001.

It isn't a cookbook either.
