Several of my friends have a special talent for exposing dodgy publishing outfits and related scams. It looks like Improbable Research has turned up another one, in the form of Strange academic journals, and quite possibly conferences, too.

Can anyone figure out what's going on at Scientific Research Publishing?

They say "Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere." But that doesn't appear to be what they publish....

Congratulations, 2010 TAFF Winners!

Huzzahs, grins, and more to Anne KG Murphy and Brian Gray, fandom's 2010 TAFF delegates!

Condolences and thanks to Frank Wu, who, along with Anne and Brian, ran a delightfully friendly campaign that quite likely set a new record for funds raised during the campaign cycle.

I look forward to reading all about Anne and Brian's trip plans as well as the trip itself. Hey, you two -- have Big Fun with it and come back with excellent memories that will last you a lifetime.
