If you have a weakness for LUSH products, I recommend checking out their Clean Slate sale. The general deal is "buy one, get one free" on all of their regular and holiday offerings made before December 1st. Specific offers & details vary by store. I'm in New York for a couple of days, and lucked into the SoHo store on Broadway Wednesday without knowing anything about the sale. There, pretty much everything in the store is buy one, get one free...but bath bombs, bubble bars, melts, and soaps are buy one, get two free! Bath bombs and bubble bars are the only LUSH products I keep on hand at pretty much all times. I was down to my last couple at home; it was time to restock. Even if it hadn't been, I would have bought heavily.

In SoHo, the sale runs through December 29th, though it's also "while supplies last." I suspect the same is true elsewhere. I may have bought the last of the MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment bath melts, but there were still piles of everything else I'd reached for when I left SoHo this afternoon carrying four bags of LUSHy goodness.

It was all utterly serendipitous. I'd driven my car into Manhattan (rather than just along the edge of it) for the first time ever. I only had to carry those bags about 4-5 blocks, and they were small blocks at that. If I'd been riding the subway as usual, hauling my treasure home would have been a major ordeal.

I'm going to remember to check for this sale in future years!

Shopping Report: the 3rd Day of Christmas

Today's find doesn't match the LUSH Clean Slate sale at the SoHo store, but for being a first time shopper at Coldwater Creek, I seem to have done pretty well. I walked away with two sweaters, two dressy jackets, and a leather jacket that I hope works out as I intend it to.

The Shops at Evergreen Walk store had discounts up to 60%, and everything on the Coldwater Creek website is 50% off through midnight Friday. (Eastern time)

I didn't find online links to most of the stuff I bought in the store, but here's one of the dressy jackets. "Click to enlarge" on the main image helps some. Go ahead and click "More Views" over to the right, even though it says "Image Coming Soon." There's a close-up image of the fabric behind the cut. I have the silver one shown.

And here's the Artistic Leather Jacket. The store sale price was $119, a tasty $30 lower than the half-price web deal. No shipping charges, either. I was already driving by on another errand, so gas money to get there isn't a factor.

Now I'm just trying to remember budget realities and not order this silk overlay sweater. Even at half off, it's $20-40 more than I tend to pay for sweaters, and that's before shipping. I know everything is returnable, but I have a strong preference for trying things on before I buy them. So my plan is to enjoy the fun new clothes I've already tried on and bought today, saving any hypothetical dollars for future adventures and sales. Because there will always be more sales.

So, I know that post-Christmas sales are a standard retail thing, albeit one I haven't shopped much over the years. Have the deep discounts spread enough that they're now common on the web, too? I don't buy all that much stuff online, and I haven't really been looking.
