About 15 hours ago, I wrote:

[Some clever subject line that boiled down to "Part One..."]

...of [livejournal.com profile] calimac's and Geri's Excellent Adventure are complete. Travels so far include:

1. Geri to Logan to meet the 5:04am arrival of [livejournal.com profile] calimac's redeye flight from San Jose.

2. [livejournal.com profile] calimac and Geri to NESFA Clubhouse in Somerville. Someone did quite the precision amount of shoveling needed to open the back door. Many thanks.

[livejournal.com profile] calimac immediately notes shelving error in NESFA library. Volumes in [whichever Best SF & Fantasy series it is] that were edited by Terry Carr are not the same series as those by the same title edited by Lin Carter. Terry's volumes 2 and 3 should not be between Carter's volumes 1, 4, and 5 (or whatever specific numbers they are). Geri shows but does not demonstrate inner workings of Mr. G. Clubhouse confirmed locked on our departure.

3) [livejournal.com profile] calimac navigates route to Waltham address Isaac Asimov lived in when his two children were born. We find the place without difficulty, look at the outside, but don't take any pictures.

4) [livejournal.com profile] calimac then navigates route to Newtown address where Asimov lived from the mid-'50s to mid-'70s, IIRC. Mentions part from Asimov's memoirs telling about basement flooding during early years of owning the home, and how it took the joy out of home ownership for Isaac.

5) Next stop: Wales. Well, next stop Westborough Service Plaza for nothing significant, slight detour through Brimfield for a sleepy-eyed, nodding-off looksee. On the part of the passenger, that is. The driver kept the narrative going.

6) Toad Woods, where we are now. Passenger napping; driver about to do likewise. I shot pix for International Change Your Icon Day, but am going to take a much-needed nap myself and also continue with Part 2: [livejournal.com profile] calimac, [livejournal.com profile] kip_w, and Geri's Excellent Adventure before uploading them from the memory card and turning them into icons. Please accept this old new icon as a placeholder until I make one or more new new ones.

Fin

And now, these 15 hours later, I have no idea what I was starting to say when I typed "Fin" Monday morning. Since then, I've been to West Springfield, MA and New Haven, CT and back again. Good times, much though I really could have done without that snow on the drive home.

It wasn't just a "There and Back Again" sort of day, it was a "There, There, There, and There, followed by naps at Toad Woods, a jaunt past the Stafford House of Pizza, and then west to pick up [livejournal.com profile] kip_w. After which we went There, There, There, There, There, There, and There. Then the long, snow-plagued drive home. Lunch at the Celery Stalk sustained us until Pepe's Pizza in New Haven. Total: 366 miles of "There's" and mighty fine company to boot.

More when I have a hope of convincing anyone I'm coherent. Sleep now. For me, that is.
