May. 10th, 2006 03:47 amMy most-excellent Corflu and Toronto adventure ended a few hours ago with what may well have been my very last drive down the gravel driveway at Toad Woods. It was also the smoothest drive down the gravel driveway in quite some time, perhaps even of all time. From what I could tell in the darkness found in these parts at 1am, the paving contractor has finished Day One of the process: grading.
Then again, I may have a few more drives up and down on the dirt. His phone message referred only to pouring the blacktop later this week. But the days of my unpaved driveway are very clearly numbered. Next up: the sound of much rejoicing from all who have ever driven down it. And back up, too.
