The Accuweather headline says it best: "Storm Slams Northeast After Icing the South." I've been hearing the tinkling crackles of freezing rain falling from the sky since shortly after midnight and just checked outside to confirm that, yes, it looks to be quite a mess in the making.
I really should have posted 5 hours ago, when I was thinking about what a difference 15 degrees can make. Walking up to the mailbox is so much more pleasant at 20 degrees Farhenheit than it is as 5. Until the woods and driveway get coated in ice, that is.
Oh, well. All of my utilities are still working, and while I do need to go out Friday, the errands were going to wait until afternoon anyway. Fingers crossed that the temperature rises as forecast, and that the rain melts all the ice by then.
