Giving thanks

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it, or who otherwise like being included in my Thanksgiving felicitations. It's probably saying something about how much I enjoy road trip as today I find myself thankful to be departing on a 2-hour drive down to Joe & Edie's to share Thanksgiving dinner at their home. This from someone who wrapped up a 2-week, 3,100-hundred mile road trip a week ago today, and who's put another 300+ miles on the car since then.

So it's 115-120 miles today, likewise tomorrow, then the last flurry of shopping, cooking, and household preparations for Saturday's housewarming party here at Toad Woods.

Much to do, much abundance to be thankful for....

[livejournal.com profile] lsanderson, thank you for your “don't go; it's a cookbook” invitation to join LiveJournal during another especially-busy period in my life. Being here continues to be a blessing, an utter blessing. And thanks, too, to the benefactor(s) who have twice gifted me with a paid membership. Much appreciated!

I'd completely spaced the housewarming. And it doesn't feel right to put a note in my journal asking for a ride, because that might constitute inviting other people to your party.

Is there anyone traveling from New York City or nearby who might have room for a passenger?

It's an open fannish party; you're welcome to invite other people to it regardless of whether or not it involves transportation to get you there, too.

Are there people reading your LJ who don't celebrate Thanksgiving?

as I said to Laurel

I'm a dolt. Non-Americans don't celebrate it, of course. I was trying to come up with even one instance I'd heard of an American who didn't and I failed. So whatever. Happy Thanksgiving!

K.

We certainly have nothing like that here. Indeed there are no significant holidays clashing with the Christmas season (which starts on 1st of September these days).

Most welcome. Happy Thanksgiving to you too.

Wish I was going to be at your housewarming.
