Driving off the TripTik
Nov. 7th, 2004 01:49 pmWhen I started this trip, I knew I was coming as far west as Chicago -- I had a box of carnival glass to deliver to Jack WINOLJ, and his place is a mere 180 miles west of my dad's in Battle Creek. No big deal, right? Right.
It takes adding another 400 miles to that 180 that to pretty much double the size of the drive. But there's simply too much that I want and need to do in Minneapolis at this time to turn around and head back east from Jack's in the morning, as I planned to do when entering destination addresses on AAA website when creating a TripTik for the trip. So I'll spend Monday driving off the TripTik. Not that I've paid any attention to it since leaving my sister's in Lansing. I know these roads, the routes, the exits. Lansing, Battle Creek, Chicago, Minneapolis. The only difference is that I'll still have 1400 miles to drive after I arrive in Minneapolis Monday night
I expect to be in town until, um, sometime around the end of the week. Don't really know yet -- it depends on how three client projects-in-process go, and how much visiting I can cram in during whatever free time the work load leaves me. I'll be staying with
fredcritter and family; Minneapolis friends can reach me via my cell phone and email.
I'm really looking forward to being there.

Date: 2004-11-08 01:21 am (UTC)Windycon would be nice; it's been 15+ years. But I've already added at least 4-5 days to the trip, and there's a lot I want and need to do this month at Toad Woods, too. So the temptation is likely to remain resistible.

Date: 2004-11-08 01:09 am (UTC)I meant to mention it when we talked yesterday, just so you could help me remember. You remembered anyway; I'm sooo impressed!
Tangerine Drops; yum. And I'm thinking it's time to make Mary's Sugar Cookies again. They're the best.

Date: 2004-11-08 01:41 am (UTC)I'd be interested in getting together to say hi sometime. Hmm - if you'd like to come over Tuesday that would work. Irene & I will both be doing the post-eye-doctor dilation recovery thing. Then the week gets really busy - next available time-slot would be breakfast Saturday. :-(

Date: 2004-11-08 02:28 am (UTC)Aaarggghhh! I'd forgotten about the Board Meeting when assembling this week's schedule. Ouch! That's going to make grocery shopping really interesting this week! Well, I'm supposed to be out of the dentist's office by 4PM - maybe we'll be able to get grocery shopping in then.
