It was a windy day. From the sound of it, it's a windy night, too. A really windy night.
The Weather Channel says winds from the south/southeast, 25 mph gusting to 34.
Accuweather says same direction, 8 mph, with gusts to 12.
Weather Underground says 2 and 9, now 4 and 9, now 13. Gotta say something for real-time reports -- they're updating every 10-12 seconds. It's also the closest location -- Monson. Accuweather is based on Worcester. (Further readings over the last 2 minutes have ranged from 2 to 16.)
Weather.gov has a high wind warning in effect until midnight. -- gusts up to 50 mph.
Thunderstorms coming, too.
It's a good night to be inside. I'm glad I am.
Here comes another one of those gusts....

Which reminds me that it's about time to put the flashlight out in the sun to recharge, tomorrow -- it was getting a bit weak when I chased after a marauding possum a few minutes ago -- and that I want to shop for an all-purpose solar-powered battery-charger.

Power does go out for several hours upon occasion. I have flashlights scattered throughout the house, tucked into various places I'm likely to need them. The best is one of those wind-up models.
