Yes, I'm okay. Pretty much so, anyway.

I was and am feeling hammered by the the fact that change happens. The contrast last night between the cool fog and knowing what the morrow would bring reminded me that said change happening is all around me, always. Then there's the gap between change happening and specific changes I would welcome not happening. Some of those changes are at least hypothetically within my control -- others, not so much.

There's a clear "grant me the serenity" component to my current needs as well as the importance of seeing and embracing the "joy of the day." Yes, it's hot outside. Today's enjoyment of that involves a walk up to the farmer's market right now, before it gets brutally hot.

Thanks for the care and concern.

Having had, for a brief time, a job title of "Change Manager," I'm increasingly coming to the view that it's almost an oxymoron. A bit like 'Blue Whale Wrangler' or 'Black Hole Shepherd.'

Good point, and timely, too.

We speak of change as something to manage for the illusion of control and influence that gives us.

There's a short story or three about black hole shepherds, I'm sure of it. Probably already written, but there you go.

Please send me some of that brutally hot... we seem to be missing it so far this year. We only need about 4 or 5 days worth for now and then you can have it right back.

Thanks in advance.

How 'bout if you come right over and take some of it home? That'd work for me.

It would be fun but my wife would kill me then do nasty things to my grave. No budget in terms of time nor money. It is amazing how little time I have to myself since I retired... I think she knows the type of trouble I am capable of if left on my own.

We have heat advisories the next three days. I'd be happy to ship you some. Although I just heard thunder, and the light is a little yellow, which is just going to make us more humid!

More water is not what I need... the basement is still drying out from yesterday's rain. Our plumber and handyman shared a brain cramp this week.

I also did my walk to the farmer's market early. Fish, bread, and milk today, but that's partly because I already had strawberries riper than theirs, and more mushrooms than I'll use.

I came home with a bag of onions, peaches, pears, a loaf of homemade bread, and a raspberry bar. More importantly, I came home with the necessary information for having a tag sale table there in weeks to come.

"Tag sale." You take the girl out of the Midwest and the Midwest sloughs right off the girl.

In some ways, yes, but overall? Overall, not so much.

What would you call it? Here, it'd be a garage sale, even if there's no garage.

*hug*

i am glad you're hanging in, and am sad you're in a place where it's tricky enough to have to be thought about.
