gerisullivanWales is under a weather advisory I don't remember ever seeing anywhere I lived before. There's a fire weather watch Thursday morning through afternoon.
Yes, I'm used to the whole forest fire danger levels, but it's always been phrased specifically as forest fires. (Okay, yes, I do live in a forest.....)
But I don't remember ever seeing or hearing of a fire weather watch. I probably just don't follow weather alerts that closely, but it seems like this is something that belongs in California or someplace else where there's an annual fire season. Nope, if this map is anything to go on, fire weather watches and red flag warnings are apparently common nationwide.
I'm glad my particular woods lean heavily toward the wetland end of the spectrum.
