And so it begins... Solubility experimentation for Death to Peeps Fun Fest at Boskone 45. |
I'm having fun experimenting with Peeps for Boskone. And it occurs to me that this experiment calls out for a much better photographer than I'll ever be. And it's an opportunity that's not likely to come around very often. Well, yes, any photographer could stage as many as 36 mason jars, each with a single marshmallow Peep inside, floating on or submerged in some substance. But not many would.
The first set of ghost and heart Peeps are in their jars, and they're really rather pretty. Next Friday, I'll start the next set, and the Friday after that I'll start another. Next weekend, I'll be at Vericon, but I expect to be hanging around Toad Woods for the rest of the run-up to Boskone. If

We can probably work out something involving lunch or dinner, too. And one or both guest bedrooms if needed.

Click through for a bigger picture of the little guy, along with a couple of his compatriots. So far, everyone is still floating. Well, except for the Peep ghost I submerged in really thick goo in the first place. The Peeps floated to the top of the thick liquids, but the goo was too much for the one whose fate turned out to be in that jar. So far, it seems to be preserving rather than dissolving him. I look forward to seeing if that's still the case in another four weeks.

I picked up ghost and pumpkin Peeps back at Halloween, then some peppermint star Peeps in early December. The Valentine heart Peeps in two atrocious flavors are out now. My stash of stale Peeps includes a tiny package of 3 snowmen, 8 cocoa cats (another of Just Born's Halloween offerings), and two Easter egg decorating kits. They seem to have dropped the Independence Day Peeps, which is probably why they're now selling stars at Christmas.

I look forward to seeing what you want to do with the jars for the photo shoot. And to your company, too, of course.
