Bat, chimney swift, or something else?

gerisullivanSomething has been flying around my living room and occasionally darting into the small front entry area (at the base of the stairs) and the dining area on and off for most of an hour now.
Whatever it is, it's fast! Since I don't know for sure it isn't a bat, I'm still operating under the assumption that it could well be. Thank goodness for Batwrangler's tips!
To me, the real question is how will I know when it's flown out one of the open doors? Presuming it does, that is. It's fine if I see it fly out, but I doubt I'll be that lucky.
The other real question of course is how the darned thing got in. One of the chimneys, maybe. I rather hope so, 'cause I hope I don't have any unknown holes in my house.
