When Reed was hospitalized I'd been crocheting for a couple of years, and for some reason I was realy into making tubes. I got the idea to make him one about a foot and a half long. IIRC Sue, Chris and I went to visit him, and I gave it to him saying, "I made ya a colon cozy. And see this little pink clump?" That's your cancer and you can pick it out. Domesticity and Sympathtic Magic all in one!"

Ah, yup. Indeed! I learned to knit so I could amuse, delight, and/or horrify Ig Nobel winners and Nobel Laureates alike. :-)
